New Snow School Instructor | Sommet Edelweiss


The Instructor will provide quality ski/snowboard instruction to groups and individuals in a safe and fun manner.

This is an entry-level position for candidates with no previous experience with Sommet Edelweiss instructor team.

Job details


  • Upholding the highest levels of guest safety on varied terrain with varying winter weather conditions.
  • Clearly and accurately instructing assigned levels of skiing or snowboarding to students, both physically and verbally.
  • Ensuring that students are matched to appropriate skier/snowboarding skill level and working with supervisors/managers to make appropriate changes when necessary.
  • Assisting guests with transportation of equipment and how to load and unload the chairlift.
  • Supervising children in class at all times; assisting at lunch and snack times; ensuring return of children to identified guardian. (Childrens' Instructors Only)
  • Assisting in operational responsibilities of Snow School's programs including but not limited to registration process, directing guests to appropriate equipment fitting source, upkeep of outdoor teaching areas, and cleanliness of facilities. (Childrens' Instructors Only)
  • Acts as ambassador for the station and promotes the activities of the station.
  • Attends weekly information meetings.
  • Performs any other related task.


  • Ski: Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance (CSIA) or PESQ Level 1 valid certification (or in the process of obtaining it);
  • Snowboard: Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) or PESQ Level 1 valid certification (or in the process of obtaining it).


  • Less than 1 year.


  • Must be fluent in all aspects of the English and French language (spoken and written).

In order to join our passionate instructors at Sommet Edelweiss, we invite you to take note of the following steps for becoming a first-time instructor:

1. Send us your application by filling the form below.

Please note that you must offer a minimum of 18 working days between December 22, 2018 and March 10, 2019, mostly on Saturdays and Sundays.

2. You will receive an email or a phone call from one of our recruiters inviting you to an off-snow interview that will be held in November. Information needed to become a ski instructor will be given at that moment. You will then be contacted to participate to an on-site hiring clinic.

3. You must obtain the CSIA (Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance) or the CASI (Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors) level 1 certification or have a valid PESQ (Programme d’enseignement sportif du Québec) certification. Successful completion of either certification is required.

At this time, it is not recommended that you register to a level 1 certification class. Your instructor will advise you at the right moment.
