Having won numerous prestigious awards in the ski industry, our school is the most decorated in Quebec.

The Instructor will provide quality ski/snowboard instruction to groups and individuals in a safe and fun manner.

This is an entry-level position for candidates with no previous experience with Sommet Edelweiss instructor team.

Responsibilities

  • Upholding the highest levels of guest safety on varied terrain with varying winter weather conditions.
  • Clearly and accurately instructing assigned levels of skiing or snowboarding to students, both physically and verbally.
  • Ensuring that students are matched to appropriate skier/snowboarding skill level and working with supervisors/managers to make appropriate changes when necessary.
  • Assisting guests with transportation of equipment and how to load and unload the chairlift.
  • Supervising children in class at all times; assisting at lunch and snack times; ensuring return of children to identified guardian. (Childrens' Instructors Only)
  • Assisting in operational responsibilities of Snow School's programs including but not limited to registration process, directing guests to appropriate equipment fitting source, upkeep of outdoor teaching areas, and cleanliness of facilities. (Childrens' Instructors Only)
  • Attends weekly information meetings.

Skills requirements

Must be fluent in all aspects of the English and French language (spoken and written).

In order to join our passionate instructors at Sommet Edelweiss, we invite you to take note of the following steps for becoming a first-time instructor:

1. Send us your application by filling the form below.

Please note that you must offer a minimum of 20 working days between December 16, 2023 and March 17, 2024, mostly on Saturdays and Sundays.

2. One of our Snow School members will contact you shortly.

3. You must obtain the CSIA (Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance) or the CASI (Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors) level 1 certification or have a valid PESA (Programme d’enseignement du ski alpin) or PEPN (Programme d'enseignement de la planche à neige) certification.

SIMPLIFIED TRAINING | Please note that it is possible to complete a Level 1 ski certification, in collaboration with the Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance (CSIA), at the cost of $150 plus taxes.

The program includes:

  1. A Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance certification which is recognized across Canada after a year of employment with Les Sommets
  2. Additional course content specifically developed for today’s market at Les Sommets
  3. An unheard of price for this type of certification!

Successful completion of either certification is required.
