Ski instructor spring classic - 6th edition

March 28th Saint-Sauveur

We warmly invite all snow schools in Quebec to participate in the 6th edition of the Spring Classic for instructors.

Make your teams and take part in the giant slalom duel! (between 12 to 15 meters on the Nordique trail of the Sommet Saint-Sauveur)

BBQ on the terrace ($), entertainment, apres-ski, prizes for best team spirit, cash prizes to be won and party presented by Coors Light!

Will you be the best snow school in Quebec this year?


REGISTRATION COST

  • Participants : $ 10 (including race fees and mountain access ticket)
  • Instructors - fans not participating in the race: $ 21 (mountain access ticket only)

SCHEDULE

  • 9:00 am: Meeting of team captains at T-Bar 70 at Sommet Saint-Sauveur
  • 9:30 am : Study of the course
  • 10:00 am : Qualification
  • Around 12h00 : Group photo of the participants 
  • 1:00 p.m. : Team captains meet before the start of the afternoon duals
  • 1:15 p.m. : Dual elimination round
  • 4:00 p.m. : Medal and trophy presentation at the main pavilion
  • 8:00 p.m. : Party presented by Coors Light at Versant Avila bar

REGISTRATION

  • Form your team, composed of seven (7) people
    • four (4) skiers
    • two (2) skiers
    • a snowboarder

You have the option of having one (1) substitute per team, if one of your participants cannot run (unforeseen, injury, illness). The replacement must be registered in the registration form and cannot join the team the same day.

FINAL A CASH PRIZES

  • 1st place: $ 1,000
  • 2nd place: $ 500
  • 3rd place: $ 300

PRIZE AWARDED TO THE BEST TEAM SPIRIT (BY SCHOOL)

Enter for a chance to win a $ 200 les Sommets gift card by standing out throughout the day and evening. Collect your points as follows:

  • 10 pts per person present representing your school during the day at the Spring Classic
  • 10 pts per person present representing your school at the party presented by Coors Light at Versant Avila bar
  • 50 pts per team participating in the Spring Classic
  • 100, 200 and 300 pts for the 3 teams who will shout the loudest at the time given to the party presented by Coors Light at Versant Avila bar

PROCEDURES & REGULATIONS

Qualification round

  • 1 timed descent, compilation of total time per team. The blue and red courses will be drawn at random. The 8 teams with the fastest time will advance to the final round.
  • Runners who will be DNS, DNF or DSQ: the worst time in their category will be granted to them plus a 2 sec penalty
  • The starting order will be determined by a random draw

Final round

  • The team with the best total time will have priority in choosing the course. Once the choice has been made, the first rider will start on the chosen course, followed by the other riders alternating from one course to another.
  • The duels during the elimination rounds will be determined in good faith between the two captains of the teams that will compete. Departures will be in a simultaneous departure gate.
  • The winning team will be the one with four or more riders in 1st position.
  • There will be a final round B, for the teams which will not be classified among the first eight teams, to determine the positions of 9 and more. In this way, everyone can make at least 2 descents.

Quarterfinal

  • Team 1 vs 8 / Team 2 vs 7
  • Team 3 vs 6 / Team 4 vs 5

Semi final

  • The remaining four teams will face off based on their position on the playoff table.
  • The winning team will be the one with four or more riders in 1st position.

Final

  • The two remaining teams.
  • The winning team will be the one with four or more riders in 1st position.

OTHER REGULATIONS

  • Team composed entirely of instructors. No coach of the competition team!
  • We proudly invite you to represent your school by wearing its colors.
  • Mandatory helmet
  • "Skinsuit" prohibited
