The Resort Announces New Initiatives To Improve The Experience For Beginners

February 7th, 2018 Saint-Sauveur, versant Avila Ski

Sommet Saint-Sauveur is proud to continue its innovational tradition and is launching "Les Week-ends Expérience Découverte", a unique service of facilitating the introduction to skiing by including in the price of a ticket, access to qualified instructors. The resort also announced its association with the project “Pente à neige du Parc Ignace-Bourget.”

Mentoring Program Included With The Purchase Of A Ski Ticket

Since January 27 of this year and for the next 8 weekends, a team of instructors will be permanently present on the beginners trails of Sommet Saint-Sauveur and versant Avila. Specially trained to teach novice skiers and snowboarders, these instructors will offer various workshops, exercises and advice to all those who wish to receive professional support.

This ground-breaking offer is available on Saturdays and Sundays only, and is included in the price of the ticket purchase. There are no forms to fill out and no booking is required. Although this does not replace the individual or group ski lesson, this formula is fun, accessible and affordable. Developed in collaboration with the American company “SNOW Operating”, the project is a first in the country.

"Some beginners prefer to evolve freely while others are looking for more accessible ways to learn," says Simon Pagé, Director of Ski schools, Customer experience and Sales at Les Sommets. "Les Week-ends Expérience Découverte" proposes a perfect alternative to those who are hitting the slopes for the first time and who wish to take advantage of some helpful tips". We hope that this initiative will help our visitors familiarize themselves more easily with the technique and will contribute to introduce new skiers to the joys of mountain sports. »

"Les Week-ends Expérience Découverte" formula adds to the Terrain Base Learning Program, an award-winning method of learning, established in 2015 at the resorts of the group Les Sommets. The six beginners trails were the first in Quebec to be developed in order to comply with the principles of the instinctive control of skiing.

Partner of « La Pente à neige du Parc Ignace-Bourget »

Along with the implementation of initiatives to improve the experience of its visitors, Sommet Saint-Sauveur has agreed to lend its support to “La Pente à neige du Parc Ignace-Bourget”, in the South-West district of Montreal. Various activities will be offered in the recently inaugurated winter village, including initiation to skiing and snowboarding. Sommet Saint-Sauveur is the only ski resort partner of this initiative.

“We are proud to be associated to this great project and encourage the discovery and practice of winter sports in urban areas," says Simon Pagé, of the group Les Sommets. "We have long been convinced that maintaining an active lifestyle and enjoying the outdoors is the best way to take pleasure in the winter season!”

“We have chosen “Sommet Saint-Sauveur” because it is for us a true representation of excellence and quality in the field of skiing in Quebec. Through this partnership, we can offer new skiers and snowboarders the opportunity to learn on our school-slopes and then pursue the natural continuity at a resort near Montreal which will without a doubt offer an experience at the height their expectations!"said Esteban Dravet, founder and responsible of the development of “La Pente à Neige”.

These initiatives are part of the constantly renewed determination of Sommets Saint-Sauveur to make skiing a more accessible, enjoyable and fun experience. Year after year, the group “Les Sommets” invests in its resorts to improve infrastructures and programs, and sets new standards in terms of pleasure, comfort and quality.
