Saint-Sauveur, January 9, 2024 - The New Year is off to a great start at Les Sommets with events taking place in our mountains last Saturday, January 6! Here's a look back at the day's events:
The day began with the official inauguration ceremony for the Apollo lift at Sommet Olympia. This quad lift, equipped with a loading carpet, greatly enhances the skiing experience. It replaces the previous triple lift previously in place at the same location; an entire sector of the mountain is now more accessible in total comfort! The lift has 128 chairs and an average speed of 2.3 metres per second. The entire project represents an investment of $4 million. The only new lift in the Laurentians!
This marked improvement comes on top of our ongoing and sustained effort to upgrade lifts across our sommets:
In the evening, the Classique Martin Couture took place under the snowflakes at Sommet Saint-Sauveur.
Organized by Les Sommets and the Sommet Saint-Sauveur's Competition team, this traditional race brought together the region's best runners. All profits raised will be donated to the Fonds Édouard Boivin, with whom we collaborate throughout the year. Thank you to everyone involved!
We wish you a snowy and enjoyable year in 2024 at Les Sommets!
