The Beginning
The ski industry in Quebec originated in the small Laurentian village of Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts. From the installation of the first North American ski lifts to the development of one of the most important ski areas in the country, the history of les Sommets is one of family, ambition, innovation and passion.

- Mid-February Every year, mid-February, we issue the tax statements required for tax returns. These documents are available on the Employee Portal.
The Name Tag
This tool is used to identify you as an employee as well as to indicate your affiliate station. It is worn on the right side, this side facilitating reading from left to right.
The Punch Card
This is the card showing your arrival and departure time during your shift. It is your responsibility, upon your arrival at work, to use the punch clock approximately 5 minutes before the official start of your shift. The punch clock must also be used at the end of the shift just before leaving. If this procedure is not followed, your hours cannot be counted and unfortunately could have an impact on your pay.
The Employee Pass
In addition to showing that you are a les Sommets employee, this card entitles you to the privileges offered. It can be used in all les Sommets service points (retail shop, rental and repair workshop, food services, etc.). This card is also your access to the mountain. It must remain in your possession and cannot be loaned under any circumstances.
When will I receive my employee pass, my name tag and my punch card?
How do I know if my employee file is complete?
The following items must be included in your employee file:
- Date of birth
- Email address
- Social security number
- Complete banking details
- Complete mailing address
- Home and/or cell number
Do I need to always have my cards with me?
While working, you must always have your cards with you.
How long are my cards valid?
The employee pass and punch card are valid for one season only. New cards will be issued when you return for the next season. However, if you leave your job during the season, the benefits associated with your job will no longer be available.
As for the name tag, it can be reused the following season.
What are the employee benefits at our different ski hills?
Yes, your Employee Pass must be presented to access your discounts/benefits as a Les Sommets employee:
- Your season pass is loaded directly on your Employee Pass. You must have it on you when you want to access one of the mountains in the Les Sommets group;
- Present your employee pass at any our cafeterias to obtain your 50% discount (100 % for food services employees while working) on the majority of products sold;
- Present your employee pass in any of the les Sommets Boutiques to obtain a 30% discount on clothing and a 20 to 30% discount on ski equipment;
- Regardless of your status (Annual, Seasonal, Volunteer), your Employee Pass will be encoded with 5 Family & Friends Daily Tickets available at a discounted rate of $40 per ticket, tax included. To receive these tickets, simply pick up the coupons free of charge at one of our Customer Service counters. The person to whom the coupon is given will then have to pay at the Customer Service Desk in order to receive their valid ticket for the station of their choice.

Note that employee benefits are no longer available after the closing date of all les Sommets mountains. Also, if you quit your job during the season, the employment benefits will no longer be valid.
Can I get a refund if I already bought my season pass?
If you are a seasonal or regular employee, you can get a refund for your season pass by filling out this form.
How do I take full advantage of my family season pass?
Part-time employee
The spouse and children of a part-time employee (less than 32 hours/week) receive a 50% discount on a season pass. The discount may be offered to the employee's parents if the employee has no children or spouse.
Full-time employee
The spouse of a full-time employee (32 hours/week or more) living at the same address receives a free season pass (50% discount for children of a full-time employee). A 50% discount may be offered to the employee's parents or children if the employee does not have a spouse.
The Uniform
If your job requires the wearing of a uniform and/or equipment specific to the performance of your job, some of these items may be provided to you by the company and you are responsible for maintaining them. If loaned equipment is damaged, report the situation immediately to your supervisor. Your uniform must be worn exclusively when working in the mountains. It is forbidden to use it for other personal purposes. Please note that you will be charged for any equipment not returned at the end of the season.
The Employee Manual
This handbook will give you some background on who we are as a company, the terms available to you, various aspects of how we operate and what is expected of you as a les Sommets employee. It is a reference tool that will help ensure harmony in the workplace.
The Employee Portal
This tool allows you to consult your pay slips, access your tax statements and modify your personal details (mailing address, email address, phone number, etc.). If you are a new employee, an email will be sent to you in the weeks following your hiring to tell you how to log into the portal.
Not applicable to volunteer employees.
The Employee Referral Program
The program is designed to recognize and thank the contributions of each of our employees by referring qualified candidates who fit our culture.
How it works
The new candidate must provide the name of the referrer (the employee who referred them) in the "Message" section at the bottom of the online application form.
Maximum one referral per application; however, an employee may refer more than one candidate.
Reward
For helping us find the best talent, the employee who refers a candidate will receive a Les Sommets gift card up to $250:
- $50 for referring a part-time seasonal position (less than 32 hours/week)
- $100 for referrals related to a full-time seasonal position (32 hours/week or more)
- $250 for SEO related to a full-time, year-round position

Your pay is deposited directly to your bank account.
How often is payroll deposited?
Every two weeks, on Thursday at midnight.
Why did my pay not get deposited?

When will the tax statements be available (T4 and Relevé 1)?
The T4 and Relevé 1 for the current tax year are available at Employee Portal as of mid-February.
How do I obtain my record of employment?
The Record of Employment will be sent electronically to Service Canada upon your termination of employment. A copy of the Record of Employment in PDF format will be available on the Service Canada website, in the section My Account.
