At les Sommets’ Snow School, winter fun is exhilarating! Recognized for its expertise, considerable diversity, and certified instructors, les Sommets Snow School offers you the very best instruction. Having won numerous prestigious awards in the ski industry, our school is the most decorated in Quebec.

The Instructor will provide quality ski/snowboard instruction to groups and individuals in a safe and fun manner.

Responsibilities

  • Upholding the highest levels of guest safety on varied terrain with varying winter weather conditions.
  • Clearly and accurately instructing assigned levels of skiing or snowboarding to students, both physically and verbally.
  • Ensuring that students are matched to appropriate skier/snowboarding skill level and working with supervisors/managers to make appropriate changes when necessary.
  • Assisting guests with transportation of equipment and how to load and unload the chairlift.
  • Supervising children in class at all times; assisting at lunch and snack times; ensuring return of children to identified guardian. (Childrens' Instructors Only)
  • Assisting in operational responsibilities of Snow School's programs including but not limited to registration process, directing guests to appropriate equipment fitting source, upkeep of outdoor teaching areas, and cleanliness of facilities. (Childrens' Instructors Only)
  • Attends weekly information meetings.

Qualifications

Skills requirements

Must be fluent in all aspects of the English and French language (spoken and written).

In order to better plan our operations for the coming season and determine the number of instructors available to work in a given day, it is important for us to get as much info as possible on your application for the winter season to come.

Please take time to fill out the form properly as soon as possible. This will determine your employee status as well (full time, part-time or casual).

Offering your services on a certain day means that YOU ARE AVAILABLE TO TEACH FROM THE OPENING OF THE STATION UNTIL 4:30 PM.

Applicants who are offering their services every consecutive Saturday and Sunday will be given priority.

Tick one of the following options that matches your application on the calendar. If those options don't work for you, please tick specific days directly on the calendar and the Management Team will examine your request and determine if it meets the needs of the Snow School. 

STATIONS SCHEDULE

  • Sommet Saint-Sauveur & versant Avila > in operation 7 days a week
  • Sommet Gabriel > in operation from Wednesday to Sunday
  • Sommet Olympia & Sommet Morin Heights > in operation from Thursday to Monday

For Gabriel, Olympia and Morin Heights' instructors: you can offer your services for a specific day even your affiliate station is closed; in doing so, we will take this into account when assigning lessons for one of the stations open that day.

Full-Time Seasonal
Part-Time Seasonal

To obtain a “part-time” status, you must teach a minimum of 22 days.

Casual

Less than 22 working days grant you a ‘’CASUAL’’ status, which does not qualify you to earn an employee pass during days off.

Service offer calendar

To obtain a ‘’part-time’’ status and enjoy all the benefits : a total of 22 WORKING DAYS should be checked between December 16, 2023 and March 24, 2024.
