The Canadian Freestyle Ski Championships will return to Sommet Saint-Sauveur from March 27 to 29, bringing together some of the country’s top athletes in the Laurentians. This special edition also marks the 50th anniversary of Freestyle Canada, celebrating the rich heritage of freestyle skiing in Canada.
The main competitions will take place on the legendary Run 70, known for delivering spectacular action for fans of freestyle skiing in Quebec. Athletes from across Canada will gather to close their season and compete for a coveted spot on the Canadian National Freestyle Ski Team.
Sommet Saint-Sauveur and the mountains of the les Sommets group have played an important role in the history of freestyle skiing in the Laurentians. Many champions began their journey here, including Jean-Luc Brassard, the Dufour-Lapointe sisters, and Mikaël Kingsbury and Alexandre Bilodeau. Athletes who trained on les Sommets mountains have collectively won 11 Olympic medals, highlighting the region’s strong freestyle skiing legacy.
To celebrate Freestyle Canada’s 50th anniversary, several legends of the sport will gather in the region. In partnership with Manoir Saint-Sauveur, a special gala will bring together former athletes and pioneers of freestyle skiing, including Jean-Luc Brassard and freestyle icon Wayne Wong.
On March 29, the Moguls Challenge will highlight the next generation of freestyle athletes. Young competitors from regional ski clubs will compete for the prestigious Saint-Sauveur Cup, one of the most respected trophies in freestyle skiing.
With world-class performances, historic celebrations and the festive atmosphere of spring skiing in the Laurentians, the event promises an unforgettable experience for ski fans and mountain lovers.
