MESSAGE TO PARENTS
10 WEEK SNOW SCHOOL PROGRAMS

The classes will occur this Saturday and Sunday, March 19 and 20. However, the Carnival is postponed.

Anyone who has experienced it before knows that the Snow School Carnival is a colourful and enjoyable day, especially during spring. Unfortunately, the weather forecast for the upcoming weekend is not as festive. Skiing with a bit of rain is one thing, but celebrating Carnival is another! And because this season we had the opportunity, with the addition of an extra weekend, we decided to postpone the Carnival festivities (classes remain) to the following weekend.

Schedule of activities:

  • March 19-20: Regular sliding class
  • March 26-27: Additional sliding course + CARNIVAL

Let's hope that Mother Nature will offer us the last weekend worthy of spring skiing so that our children can fully experience the joys of a carnival under the sun's warm rays. But, of course, March 26-27 being the last week of school, the Carnival will take place, rain or shine. So let's keep our fingers crossed!

So, let's meet this weekend on the slopes and keep our costumes dry for next week!

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO OUR CUSTOMERS

March 16, 2022 -
The Sommet Express lift is the heart of Sommet Saint-Sauveur. Everything revolves around it. It is also the first chair to welcome skiers in the morning and the one that "turns" the most during the season; from November to May, 7 days a week, days and evenings, without a break. Unfortunately, on Friday, March 11, a major mechanical failure occurred at the end of the day. The lift's engine broke down entirely for the second time in 3 months. Yes, the same problem that occurred last January. Enough to irritate the most zen of us.

So, for the second time this season, on Saturday, March 12th, we had to remove the engine from its anchors. Again, a long and extensive operation in order to transport the heart of the mountain to a specialized external repair firm located in Montreal to perform emergency work. The firm in question even agreed to open its workshop on a Sunday to accelerate the repair time. We thank them once again.

Today is Wednesday, and the repair work is going well. The delay of a few days was to be expected and normal considering the extent and complexity of the repairs. In the meantime, we have to wait for the work of third parties and have no other alternative. We hope that in the next 2-3 days, the engine can be brought back to the mountain so that our team of mechanics can reinstall it.

This situation is unfortunate, unacceptable and incomprehensible. The Sommet Express has only been in operation since 2019. And the type of repair required for such mechanical failures requires bringing the heart of the lift to the intensive care unit in Montreal. Please know that we are doing everything in our power to get the lift back up and running as quickly as possible, although the time frame for repairs is unfortunately beyond our control.

Thank you for your understanding.

-David Dufour & Simon Pagé

Mechanical breakdown of the Babalou lift

#

February 16, 2022 - After several weeks of effort and testing to quickly repair the Babalou lift on the versant Avila, the latest diagnosis confirms that the lift will require significant repair work.

An alternative offered to the Babalou

A school slope has been set up in the tubing sector to remedy this situation. This new learning area is located not far from the main chalet and offers a magic carpet lift. In addition, this sector is accessible by shuttle. Yes, a free shuttle ride! Many little skiers already prefer this alternative!

Intro-Plus Zone

This five-step learning course for beginners remains essentially unchanged:

Northeast Options

Sommet Saint-Sauveur and Bromont, Montagne d'expériences, wish to inform you, by mutual agreement, that the Northeast options will not be renewed for the 2021-2022 season in both resorts.

In the context of limited capacity management, these options were very challenging for both organizations. However, knowing that a loyal clientele appreciated these options, we are working to develop an alternative offer.

Stay tuned for more information as the details of this offer are finalized.
