For more than 50 years, Les Sommets has been bringing the mountains to life in a responsible way. Today, this commitment is reflected in a formal sustainability initiative that protects our natural environments, supports our communities, and puts people at the heart of our decisions.
Guided by our long-term vision and our family-owned business values, we formalized our sustainability approach in 2024 by adopting a charter and a strategic plan. This commitment is also recognized by the “Eco-Responsible – Level 1: Commitment” certification, which demonstrates our dedication to integrating responsible practices into the core of our operations and to pursuing continuous improvement.

Every spring, employees from all our departments come together to participate in the Mountain Cleanup. This day of action allows our teams to make a tangible contribution to the preservation of our natural areas and to demonstrate our collective commitment to a clean and welcoming environment.
To encourage more sustainable modes of transportation, Les Sommets provides free electric vehicle charging stations to its visitors and employees at most of its resorts. This initiative helps support the transition to more responsible mobility.
To reduce the number of vehicles on the road, we encourage our customers and employees to carpool whenever possible. Through our participation in a carpooling platform—Allons covoiturage, powered by Greenplay—and a dedicated parking area near the versant Avila, we make it easier to organize shared rides to our resorts.
Throughout the year, Les Sommets hosts and supports numerous charitable, athletic, and community events. Whether they are fundraisers, benefit events, or local initiatives, we are proud to make our mountains and facilities available to causes that contribute to the well-being of our communities. These partnerships reflect our commitment to making a positive impact far beyond our resorts.
We are implementing several initiatives to reduce waste at the source, including the use of reusable tableware, reusable glasses, and compostable utensils. Recycling stations are available at all our stations, and organic waste generated by our operations is composted to minimize the amount of waste sent to landfills.
Since 2018, as part of our effort to give a second life to items that are still in good condition, more than 700 employee coats have been donated to the organization Le Book Humanitaire. Before the donation, our teams removed the logos so that the coats could be redistributed to people in need. This initiative both reduces waste and provides tangible support to the community.
We all have a role to play in promoting more sustainable practices. As a visitor, employee, or partner, I can also contribute by:

✓ Disposing of my waste properly and using the recycling, composting, and sorting facilities provided.
✓ Treating other visitors, staff, and community members with courtesy and kindness.
✓ Enjoying the mountain safely, within my abilities and according to current conditions.
✓ Reducing my use of single-use plastic by using the water refill stations available on-site.
✓ Respecting wildlife and observing animals from a distance.
✓ Choosing responsible transportation options whenever possible, such as carpooling or public transit.
✓ Leaving behind fond memories rather than traces of my visit.
Les Sommets has signed the 2030 Sustainable Tourism Pledge to reaffirm its commitment to continuously improving its practices and performance in the area of sustainable development by 2030.
